Application

Brighter SV series is a water-borne color base that has exceeded the standard level of conventional daylight fluorescent pigments for dyeing, featuring the minute particles and light fastness.

A wide range of applications: roll-dyeing, screen-dyeing, dip-dyeing, and the like. Binders will play the important role if the texture by the sense of touch and dyeing properties is considered in case of dyeing. Acrylic binders of high quality should be recommended.

After padding, the cloth is pre-dried and then cured. After curing soap off by 70C 0.5% soap solution, as this will improve the washing fastness by 0.5 – 1.0 grade.

The Brighter SV-Series applicable to various dyeing as described above, but it is necessary to note that its good lightfastness tends to be adversely affected by nonionic surfactant. When improperly used, the fluorescent pigment loses its lightfastness substantially. This may occur in the following cases:
1. When cloth to be dyed consists of a low hydroscopic synthetic fiber.
2. When a large quantity (more than 2-3%) of nonionic surfactant in the printing paste or padding solution.

Remarks
• Binders do not contain a large amount of nonionic surfactant in general (that is not more than 2-3%), but in some more than 3% of nonionic surfactant are present. The most preferable amount is less than 2%.
• In additional, the selection of a binder is very important. So, the acrylic emulsion type is the best and a butylacrylate binder with good hand is recommended.
